masjid, it was out of fear of being caught and not due to sincerity; even then, they still stood in the court of their Lord. Allah’s mercy enveloped them at that point, and they were granted the ability to repent.

This is, without doubt, a blessing from Allah Almighty. The more we turn to Him, the more we submit to Him, the more we fill our hearts with love for Him, the more He will bless us.

There is an important lesson for us in this story. When those who pretended to offer salah were still granted Allah’s mercy, think of what we can gain if we actually pray, sincerely, punctually, whilst seeking to please Him.

May Allah grant us the ability to offer salah in an exemplary manner!

The blessings of salah

Dear Islamic brothers! اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه …

*    Salah is an exceptionally sanctified act of worship.

*    Offering salah will lead to Allah Almighty being pleased with us.

*    It is the coolness of the beloved Prophet’s eyes.

*    It is a Sunnah of the noble Prophets عَـلَـيْـهِمُ الـصَّلٰوةُ وَالـسَّـلَام.

*    It is a lamp which lightens our dark graves.

*    It protects one from being punished in the grave.

*    It is a light itself.

*    It is a pillar of Islam.

*    It is the key to Paradise.

*    Mercy descends because of it.
