we are devotees of Imam Ḥusayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, we must detest the wicked character and actions of Yazīd, adopt the Sunnah and propagate it too.

Virtues of the Sunnah

1.   The beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: مَنْ اَحَبَّ سُنَّتِی فَقَدْ اَحَبَّنِی وَمَنْ اَحَبَّنِی كَانَ مَعِیَ فِی الْجَنَّةِ “Whoever loves my Sunnah loves me, and whoever loves me will be in Paradise with me.”^[1]

2.   One day, the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said the following three times, “May the mercy of Allah be upon my deputies.”

Someone asked, “Who are your deputies, O Messenger of Allah?”

The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم answered, “Those who love my Sunnah and teach it to the slaves of Allah.”^[2]

3.   The beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: مَنْ تَمَسَّكَ بِالسُّنَّةِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ “Whoever holds firm to my Sunnah will enter Paradise.”^[3]

May Allah grant us the ability to adopt the Sunnah and propagate it. مَعاذَ الـلّٰـه Those unfortunate people who become an obstacle for others in performing good deeds and those who look at people who adopt the Sunnah with disgust should fear Allah.

Evil Habits of Yazīd

Dear Islamic brothers! Imam Ḥusayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was well aware of Yazīd’s evil. Mufti NaꜤīm al-Din Murādābādī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه writes:

When Imam Ḥusayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was told to give bayꜤah to Yazīd, he said:  لِاَنّہٗ کَانَ فَاسِقًا، مُدْمِنَ الْخَمَرِ ظَالِماً  “Yazīd commits major sins publicly; he is an alcoholic
