Yazīd’s love for life and wealth was the cause of the tragedy at Karbala. The wretched oppressor felt threatened by Imam Ḥusayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, but the grandson of the beloved Prophet had no interest in acquiring wealth or status in this world. The love of Imam Ḥusayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ is in the hearts of the Ummah, and it will continue to be.

O devotees of the Prophet! Imam Ḥusayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was martyred on the 10^th of Muharram. Organise gatherings and mehfils in your homes and convey reward to everyone who was martyred. Arrange these gatherings on the 11^th too and convey reward to the Ḥusainī Sayyid, the crown of the saints, Shaykh ꜤAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه. Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ states:

Businessmen should take out at least 1 percent of their daily sales and workers should take out at least 2 percent of every wage to contribute to the monthly niyaaz on the 11^th. اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه You will find blessings in your sustenance. (If you cannot prepare niyaaz at home, spend the money on any virtuous act.)

Pious Deed No. 2

O devotees of the Prophet! In order to become true devotees of Imam Ḥusayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, affiliate yourselves with the environment of Dawat-e-Islami. Participate wholeheartedly in the 12 religious activities, fill in the Pious Deeds booklet and travel with the Madani qafilahs, and you will attain the blessings of Imam Ḥusayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ in this world and the Hereafter اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه. Pious deed 2 of the Pious Deeds booklet states:

Today, have you offered the five daily prayers with JamāꜤat (congregation)?

Through the blessings of acting upon this deed, we will become consistent in offering the prayers. Dear Islamic brothers! Salah is obligatory upon every Muslim, and Imam Ḥusayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ did not
