* He is the individual who conquered many cities, such that the palaces of Persia and Rome became home to Islam.
Sayyidatunā Umm Kulthūm رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہا was the granddaughter of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, meaning, the daughter of Lady Fāṭimah رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہا. She was married to Sayyidunā ꜤUmar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ. She was crying one day, so Sayyidunā ꜤUmar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ asked her the reason for this. She replied, “O leader of the believers! KaꜤb al-Aḥbār says that you will be at the gates of Hell.”
Upon hearing this, Sayyidunā ꜤUmar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was overcome with the fear of Allah Almighty and he immediately summoned Sayyidunā KaꜤb al-Aḥbār رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ. When he arrived, he said, “O leader of the believers! Do not be hasty in my matter. By Allah Almighty, you will enter Paradise as soon as Dhu al-Ḥijjah ends.”
Sayyidunā ꜤUmar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ asked in amazement:
اَيَّ شَيْءٍ هٰذَا مَرَّةً فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَمَرَّةً فِي الَّنارِ
“What is this? You say that I will be at the gates of Hell and then you say I am destined for Paradise.”
Sayyidunā KaꜤb al-Aḥbār رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ responded:
اِنَّا لَنَجِدُكَ فِيْ كِتَابِ اللہِ عَلٰى بَابٍ مِّنْ اَبْوَابِ جَهَنَّمَ تَمْنَعُ النَّاسَ اَنْ يَقْعُوْا فِيْهَا، فَاِذَا مِتَّ لَمْ يَزَالُوْا يَقْتَحِمُوْنَ فِيْهَا اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ !وَالَّذِيْ نَفْسِيْ بِيَدِهٖ
“Oath by the One in Whose Power is my soul! We find you in the Book of Allah Almighty at a gate from the gates of Hell, preventing people from falling into it. When you leave this world, people will continue to fall into Hell until the Day of Judgement.”[1]
