The priest answered: قَرْنٌ مِّنْ حَدِیْدٍ “An iron horn.”

Sayyidunā ꜤUmar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ exclaimed, “An iron horn! What does that mean?”

The priest responded: اَمِیْرٌ شَدِیْدٌ “A firm leader [in enforcing the laws of the religion].”

Sayyidunā ꜤUmar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ thanked Allah Almighty and said, “Allah Almighty is the greatest, and all praise belongs to Him.”[1]

The Testimony of the People of Najrān

Sayyidunā ꜤUmar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was once riding his horse when a part of his shin was revealed. The people of Najrān, who were disbelievers, saw a black mark on his shin. They said:

ھٰذَا الَّذِیْ نَجِدُ فِیْ کِتَابِنَا یُخْرِجُنَا مِنْ اَرْضِنَا

“This is the one we find in our books who will remove us from our land.”[2]

اللہُ اَکْبَر! O devotees of the Companions and Ahl al-Bayt! Sayyidunā ꜤUmar         رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was mentioned in such detail in the previous divinely revealed scriptures that the disbelievers recognised him just by a mark on his blessed shin.

Brief Introduction to Sayyidunā Umar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ 

Sayyidunā ꜤUmar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was an esteemed Companion of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. His name in this world was ꜤUmar, and he is known as Fārūq in the heavens. He is referred to as مَنْطِقُ الْحَقْ (i.e., speaker
