3. They are not ostentatious. They do not perform worship to receive praise from the people, rather only to gain the pleasure and bounty of Allah Almighty.
4. Their faces are adorned with the signs of prostration and the light of worship.
After describing their traits, Allah Almighty states:
ذٰلِکَ مَثَلُہُمۡ فِی التَّوۡرٰىۃِ ۚۖۛ وَ مَثَلُہُمۡ فِی الۡاِنۡجِیۡلِ ۚ
“This attribute of theirs is mentioned in the Tawrah; and their attribute is mentioned in the Injeel.”[1]
اللہ! اللہ! We learn that the noble Companions عَـلَيْهِمُ الرِّضْوَانْ were praised long before their arrival into the world. When people recited the Tawrah and Injeel, they also read about the nobility of the Companions عَـلَيْهِمُ الرِّضْوَانْ with hope of gaining reward.
Remember! The previous scriptures were changed by people, so we do not follow them now. Regardless of these alterations, the noble Companions عَـلَيْهِمُ الرِّضْوَانْ were mentioned in the previous scriptures.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Uncompromising in matters of religion
The second Caliph of Islam, Sayyidunā ꜤUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ once asked a priest: ھَلْ تَجِدُوْنَا فِیْ شَیْءٍ مِّنْ کُتُبِکُمْ “Do you find anything about us written in your books?” The priest replied in the positive.
He رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ asked: کَیْفَ تَجِدُوْنِیْ “How am I mentioned in your books?”
