Also, we find in the 18th Juz, in verse number 31 of Surah al-Noor:
وَ لَا یُبْدِیْنَ زِیْنَتَهُنَّ اِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَ لْیَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلٰى جُیُوْبِهِنَّ۪-
and not to reveal their adornment except what is apparent itself, and to keep the head-covering wrapped over their bosoms,
[Kanz-ul-Iman (translation of Qur’an)] (Part 18, Surah Al-Noor, Verse 31)
Alas, what can be said of our miserable state! Many women in our society do not cover appropriately in the first place, and some even make fun out of the fortunate Islamic sisters who veil themselves in accordance with the rulings of the Holy Quran.
If an Islamic sister was to cover herself according to the rules of Islam, and then attend a function or gathering of any kind, she may be subject to all forms of criticism and abuse. For example, people have been found to say: ‘What is this you have covered yourself with? Take it off!’ Others have been heard saying: ‘Alright, we know you take your veil seriously, but you should take this all off now.’ Worst of all, some unfortunate people even say: ‘The world has become very advanced and forward thinking now, and you are stuck in these old-fashioned ways.’ مَعَاذَ اللہ.
A sister who covers herself will have her heart greatly hurt by these insensitive remarks, however, this reflects the difficulty that Islamic sisters face when they cover themselves in accordance with Islamic rulings, due to the bad attitudes of many people nowadays. However, they should not give up their veil, nor should they be saddened or defeated. When facing these sorts of situations, there is no need to go into drawn out arguments or angrily dispute with those who object to the Islamic veil, as this will not solve anything, but instead create more problems.
Instead, Islamic sisters should be at ease knowing that when the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم had not yet announced his Prophethood,
