Naik Amaal Raahe Nijaat

Book Name:Naik Amaal Raahe Nijaat

Dear Islamic brothers! From the aforementioned story, we learn that the one who develops this virtuous habit of taking accountability of his actions, also finds that he will be able to avoid and safeguard himself from sins.  As soon as the heart of the righteous person of Bani Israel turned towards sin, he immediately uttered the sentence by virtue of having the habit of making accountability of his Nafs: ‘O Nafs! Fear Allah Almighty’ and then he was overwhelmed by the fear of Allah Almighty in a way that he protected himself from committing sins. It has also been found, that only virtuous deeds are helpful in hard times. Sometimes by virtue of good deeds, one gets such help from Allah Almighty that even the biggest trouble becomes easy. When the righteous person jumped from the roof in order to protect himself from sin, he presented his acts of worship as a Wasilah (means); and due to this he remained safe from death and bodily injuries by virtue of Divine help.

Remember! No one is allowed to endanger his / her life in Shari’ah. Having said this, we should protect ourselves from sins and perform more and more virtuous deeds by taking accountability of our deeds [i.e., by thinking: ‘Am I disobeying Allah Almighty by doing this?’]. Allah Almighty will assist us if we perform righteous deeds, and we shall also be blessed with countless privileges of this world and the Hereafter. In addition, virtuous deeds are the source of removing sins. In many places within the Holy Quran, we have been commanded to perform good deeds. You will also find mentioning of the excellences associated with performing said good deeds. Let’s listen to three Ayaat in this regard:

In Ayah 8 of Surah Ha-Meem As-Sajdah, part 24, Allah Almighty has stated:

اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمْ اَجْرٌ غَیْرُ مَمْنُوْنٍ۠(۸)
