a woman; if there are not any present, then the other relatives; and if they are not available either, then the body should be lowered by pious people. (Fatawa Hindiyyah, vol. 1, p. 166)
* Keep the body of the woman covered by a cloth from the time of lowering her into the grave till placing the planks.
* Recite the following Du’a while lowering into the grave: ‘بِسْمِ اللہِ وَبِاللہِ وَعَلٰی مِلَّۃِ رَسُوْلِ اللہ’. (Tanveer-ul-Absaar, vol. 3, p. 166)
* Lie the deceased on the right hand side and face him towards the Qiblah. Now, untie the knot of the shroud as it is not needed anymore. There is no harm even if it was not untied either. (Fatawa Hindiyyah, vol. 1, p. 166; Jauharah, p. 140)
* He who is untying the knot of the shroud should recite the following Du’a: ‘اَللّٰہُمَّ لَا تَحْرِمْنَا اَجْرَہٗ وَلَا تَفْتِنَّا بَعْدَہٗ’ i.e. o Allah Almighty! Do not deprive us of this reward, and do not place us in tribulation after this. (Haashiyah Tahtaawi, p. 609)

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
