The Blessed Life of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم
Dear Islamic
Brothers! Remember all the virtues and blessings of poverty are for that poor
Muslim who is patient in poverty while seeking reward and the pleasure of Allah
Almighty. Patience in poverty is a great form of worship and a cause of great
reward. In order to make a mindset of having patience upon poverty, we should
keep in mind the blessed life of our Beloved Prophet
صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ
وَسَلَّم. He صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would not eat to his full for many days,
rather he would tie stones on his blessed stomach. The fire (of the stove) in
his majestic home would go without burning for many months, he would suffice with
water and a few dates.

O Devotees of the Prophet! You have heard that our Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم preferred poverty and destitution for himself. The Noble Sahabah رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُم who benefitted from his blessed company also spent their blessed lives in poverty and hunger. There would be famine for many days of their lives, but in spite of this, these noble people would remain content on the Will of Allah Almighty, be patient and express gratitude for Allah Almighty in every situation. Let us hear an incident relating to the patience and contentment of Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen Sayyiduna Ali Al-Murtada رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ for encouragement.
