Important Events of Ramadan

1st Ramadan

On the 1st of Ramadan, 471 AH, Shaykh ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْـه was born.

3rd Ramadan

On the 3rd of Ramadan, 11 AH, Sayyidatunā Fāima al-Zahrāʾ رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّمpassed away.

10th Ramadan

On the 10th of Ramadan 10 AH, the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidatunā Khadīja رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا passed away.

15th Ramadan

On the 15th of Ramadan, 3 AH, the grandson of the Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم), Sayyidunā Imam asan رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was born.

17th Ramadan Battle of Badr

On the 17th of Ramadan, 2 AH, the Expedition of Badr took place in which fourteen honourable Companions were martyred.

17th Ramadan

On the 17th of Ramadan, 57 or 58 AH, the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidatunā ʿĀʾisha رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا passed away.

21st Ramadan

On the 21st of Ramadan, 40 AH, the fourth rightly guided Caliph of the believers, Sayyidunā ʿAlī رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ passed away.

22nd Ramadan

On the 22nd of Ramadan, 1326 AH, the celebrated poet and brother of Imam Ahmad Raza Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْـه, Mawlana Hasan Raza Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْـه passed away.

Ramadan

During Ramadan, 2 AH, Sayyidatunā Ruqayyah (رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا), the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم), passed away.

20th Ramadan the conquest of Makkah

On the 20th of Ramadan, 8 AH, the final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم led the conquest of Makka. He purged the Kaʿbah of idols before offering Salah inside it.
