Important Events of Ramadan

1^st Ramadan

On the 1^st of Ramadan, 471 AH, Shaykh ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْـه was born.

3^rd Ramadan

On the 3^rd of Ramadan, 11 AH, Sayyidatunā Fāṭima al-Zahrāʾ رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم) passed away.

10^th Ramadan

On the 10^th of Ramadan 10 AH, the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidatunā Khadīja رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا passed away.

15^th Ramadan

On the 15^th of Ramadan, 3 AH, the grandson of the Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم), Sayyidunā Imam Ḥasan رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was born.

17^th Ramadan Battle of Badr

On the 17^th of Ramadan, 2 AH, the Expedition of Badr took place in which fourteen honourable Companions were martyred.

17^th Ramadan

On the 17^th of Ramadan, 57 or 58 AH, the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidatunā ʿĀʾisha رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا passed away.

21^st Ramadan

On the 21^st of Ramadan, 40 AH, the fourth rightly guided Caliph of the believers, Sayyidunā ʿAlī رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ passed away.

22^nd Ramadan

On the 22^nd of Ramadan, 1326 AH, the celebrated poet and brother of Imam Ahmad Raza Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْـه, Mawlana Hasan Raza Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْـه passed away.

Ramadan

During Ramadan, 2 AH, Sayyidatunā Ruqayyah (رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا), the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم), passed away.

20^th Ramadan the conquest of Makkah

On the 20^th of Ramadan, 8 AH, the final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم led the conquest of Makka. He purged the Kaʿbah of idols before offering Salah inside it.
