As a child, Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا was greatly interested in swinging and playing with dolls. During a visit to Saayiduna Abu Bakr Siddique, Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم saw her playing with dolls and swinging. She was also seen playing with a winged horse when she was just five years old.

She was brilliant, intelligent, and had great knowledge about religious and historical issues despite her young age. She had a good memory. Hazrat Aishah Siddiqah رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا possessed many significant qualities and enjoyed special blessings from Allah regarding the progress of the religion of Islam.

She grew up at a time when the teachings of Islam were fresh and new, which played a major role in her becoming a great scholar of Islam.

After the demise of Hazrat Khadija رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا , the Holy Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم contined his mission and did not pursue marrying anyone for a while. However, he dreamt that an angel presented something to him wrapped in silk. He was told that it was his wife in this life and the Hereafter.

When he unveiled the silk cover, he saw it was Hazrat Aishah Siddiqah رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا .

Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم married her two years before the Hijrah to Medina, following the passing of Hazrat Khadijah رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا , his first loyal wife. It was one and a half years after the Hijrah, following the Battle of Badr, that they took her to her own house upon her father’s request in the month of Shawwal. She رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا was 6 years old at the time of her marriage.
