“Whoever sends alāt upon me 100 times, Allah Almighty will write between their eyes that they are free from hypocrisy and the fire of Hell, and He will keep them with the martyrs on the Judgement Day.”[1]

 

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Speech Intentions

The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said:  اَفْضَلُ الْعَمَلِ اَلنِّيَّۃُ الصَّادِقَۃُ – The best of deeds is a sincere intention.[2]

Dear Islamic brothers! Make it a habit to form good intentions before every action, as good intentions can lead one to Paradise. Before listening to the speech, we can make the following good intentions:

1. I will listen to the entire speech to gain Islamic knowledge.

2. I will sit in a respectful manner.

3. I will not be lazy or inattentive during the speech.

4. I will listen with the intention of self-improvement.

5. I will try to convey what I learn to others.

Why is the world called dunyā?

Amir Ahl al-Sunnah, the founder of Dawat-e-Islami, Mawlana Muhammad Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـه relates on page 260 of his book Nayki ki Da’wat [Call to Righteousness]:

The word (دُنۡيَا) literally means “closeness”. In other words, it is called the world because it is closer to humans than the Hereafter, or due to
