صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  chooses to come or not is up to him. Our duty is to keep our hearts and eyes in his path, ready in devotion, keeping them adorned with his love and Sunnah. Unfortunately, we struggle to do this. May Allah grant us the longing to behold the beloved Prophet  صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم .

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Imam al-Suyūṭī and his passion for the knowledge of Hadith

Dear Islamic brothers! Imam Jalāl al-Dīn al-Suyūṭī al-ShāfiꜤī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه  had immense enthusiasm for the knowledge of Islam. He would read extensively, study the sacred sciences with great zeal, and convey this knowledge to others. He attained mastery in many branches of Islamic sciences, including Tafsīr, Hadith, Fiqh, and linguistics. In the realm of knowledge, the highest rank is that of a mujtahid, and Imam al-Suyūṭī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه attained this rank in some sciences.

Imam al-Suyūṭī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه  had a special passion for studying Hadith. He authored numerous books on the subject and memorised many Aḥādīth too. He states: “Two hundred thousand Aḥādīth were accessible to me on the earth, and I memorised all of them. If more were available to me, I would have memorised those too.”^[1]

سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه! Dear Islamic brothers! Reflect on how great an effort this is! To memorise Aḥādīth, the names of the narrators, and then to learn details about each narrator, who is weak and who is reliable, and to authenticate each chain is an incredible feat. Imam al-Suyūṭī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه  memorised two hundred thousand narrations along with all these details. What reward did Imam al-Suyūṭī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه  receive for this passion and tireless dedication? Listen carefully!
