It is narrated from KaꜤb al-Aḥbār  رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه  that Allah Almighty revealed to Sayyidunā Mūsā  عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم :

“O Mūsā! Do you wish to not feel thirst on the Day of Judgement?”

He replied: “Yes, my Lord, I wish for that.”

Allah Almighty said: “Then send abundant salutations upon Muḥammad  صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم .”^[1]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Speech intentions

The Messenger of Allah  صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  said:  اَفْضَلُ الْعَمَلِ اَلنِّيَّۃُ الصَّادِقَۃُ – ‘The best of deeds is a sincere intention.’^[2]

Dear Islamic brothers! Make it a habit to form good intentions before every action, as good intentions can lead one to Paradise. Before listening to the speech, we can make the following good intentions:

1.I will listen to the entire speech to gain knowledge.

2.I will sit respectfully.

3.I will avoid being lazy.

4.I will listen with the intention of self-improvement.

5.I will try to convey what I learn to others.

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

A marvel of Imam al-Suyūṭī  رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه 

Imam Jalāl al-Dīn al-Suyūṭī al-ShāfiꜤī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه had a servant named Sayyidunā
