*   Greed is a terrible characteristic and a bad habit. We should be content with whatever sustenance, blessings, wealth, and status Allah has granted us.[1]

*   Those who longingly look at the wealth of others will never be happy.[2]

*   Balʿam bin Bāʿūrāˈ was once a leading scholar whose prayers were always accepted, but his greed destroyed him in this world and the Hereafter.[3]

*   Allah declares, “In My sight, the wealthiest person is he who is most content with what I have given.”[4]

*   The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم explained, “If a man possessed two valleys of wealth, he would wish for a third. Nothing can fill the stomach of Ādam’s offspring except the soil of the grave.”[5]
