Khwaja Garib Nawaz Aur Neki Ki Dawat

Book Name:Khwaja Garib Nawaz Aur Neki Ki Dawat

And who is better in speech than he who calls to Allah and performs righteous deeds[1]

According to one opinion, this verse describes how the best speech is that of a Muslim who performs good deeds and calls others to goodness.

Muftī Aḥmad Yār Khān Naʿīmī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه writes, “We learn Allah loves the speech of those who call to goodness, even if their voice is unpleasant and they speak in a simple manner.”[2]

Calling to Islam wisely

In another verse of Quran, Allah declares:

اُدۡعُ  اِلٰی سَبِیۡلِ رَبِّکَ بِالۡحِکۡمَۃِ وَ الۡمَوۡعِظَۃِ

Call towards the way of your Lord with wisdom and good counsel.[3]

In this verse, Allah orders for His beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم to invite to His way with wisdom.

Imam Ibn Jarīr رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه states:

“Wisdom” refers to what Allah revealed to the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, and “good counsel” refers to the speech which includes the fear of Allah, as well as events and punishments of previous nations that are lessons for us. We are told to advise people with these, so they may save themselves from disobeying Allah and become His dutiful servants.[4]
