reverted many people to Islam due to them seeing the saintly miracles he performed. Yet additionally, his beautiful manners, softness, and kind heart played a huge role in this. When he first came to India, the ruler of India at the time began to cause him trouble, and tried to prevent him from propagating Islam. He was denied access to water and taken away from his place of residence. They wanted him to leave India entirely, but the resolve of Khāja Muʿīn al-Dīn was too strong. With good character, softness, and wisdom, he continued spreading Islam. His enemies placed obstacle after obstacle in his path, but none of them worked. Ultimately, the light of Islam spread throughout the subcontinent.
“Your good character made me Muslim”
A man visited Khāja Muʿīn al-Dīn and said, “I really wanted to visit you, and I am thankful today is the day we meet.”
اللہُ اَکْبَر The people of Allah have unique ranks. This man was not Muslim and intended to kill Khāja Muʿīn al-Dīn. Hearing his outwardly kind words, the saint saw through them and said, “Do what you have come here to do!” The man fell to the ground in fear and said, “I had no intention of this. So-and-so forced me to do it!” He then revealed the knife he was carrying and placed it in front of Khāja Muʿīn al-Dīn. The saint said, “Do not mention anyone’s name and do not reveal anyone’s secrets.”
سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه After seeing a saintly miracle, and then witnessing how he hid the faults of others, the man was captivated by Khāja Muʿīn al-Dīn’s virtuous character. The man sighed, “I should be punished for what I’ve done.” The saint replied, “Our practice is to show good to whoever shows us evil.” He then lifted the man off the ground. After seeing so many displays of good character, the man’s heart was filled with love
