so faithful that he has not even eaten a single morsel from it? This person reminds me of Ibrahim bin Adham in his piety and abstinence.”

At that time, the owner was unaware Sayyiduna Ibrahim bin Adham رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه was the very same person in front of him. The great saint goes on to say, “Then I became busy with my work, and the owner of the garden left.”

However, the account does not end there. Sayyiduna Ibrahim bin Adham رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه continues:

The next day, I saw the owner coming towards the garden with a large amount of people accompanying him. I assumed he had told them of the incident that occurred the day before, and they were all coming to meet me. Seeing such a huge number of people, I quietly made my way out of the garden just as they arrived, and they proceeded to search for me. They did not find me, as I had already left by that point. They spent a lot of time searching for me, but eventually, they grew tired and gave up, and I did not meet any of them.[1]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                                                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه! What a great example of piety! Despite working in a garden for so long, Sayyiduna Ibrahim bin Adham رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه did not even eat a single grape or anything else from it. If he were to eat something, there would have been no issue, as the owner would not have objected to this. However, this was the great practice of our pious predecessors
رَحْمَۃُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَیْہِمْ اَجْمَعِیْن. Let alone consuming Haram, they were complete embodiments of piety and abstinence, who did not even let anything which had the smallest amount of doubt enter their stomach.

The reality is that piety is one of the best ways to attain to success in this
