Book Name:Taqwa o Parhezgari
With full determination and steadfastness, the carnal self (nafs) should be distanced from every kind of sin and even every type of permissible action which is of no benefit. By doing this, the outer and inner limbs will become full of piety. Piety will be created in the eye, ear, tongue, heart, stomach, private organs and all other limbs and body parts. Like this, the carnal self will come under the complete control of the reins of piety. In order to safeguard your faith from harm, it is necessary to protect the five above-mentioned body parts (the eyes, ear, tongue, heart, stomach and private parts) from every type of disobedience, every act of Haram, every Halal act that is useless, and from every kind of excess. When these body parts are protected then there is hope that the remaining limbs will also be protected, and a person will exhibit complete piety.[1]
Dear Islamic brothers! It is not sufficient for a pious individual to only offer an abundance of nafl prayers, keep many nafl fasts, keep a tasbih in his hand at all times, perform plenty of dhikr, make sincere du’as, or give a lot of charity. Rather, alongside performing righteous deeds, it is of utmost importance for him to avoid sins too. If a person continues to perform good deeds yet is engaged in unlawful glancing, misusing the tongue, hurting the feelings of Muslims, and other sinful actions, such a person has no right to be called pious. Therefore, in order to become a beloved slave of Allah Almighty, as well as avoiding sins, we must perform those actions which earn His pleasure.
