throughout the journey. They have the honour of gaining rewards with every step and when the visitor of the Haramayn arrives there, it is as though his fortune is at its peak. How great it would be if death were to reach us during this sacred journey and we were laid to rest in the graveyard of Baqi’. Even if we were to return, then the desire to visit again is also a pleasant feeling.

In short, if one was to die there or die on the way, or is destined to return, there is only benefit in every case. Hence, Sayyiduna Jabir Bin Abdullah رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ narrates that the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, ‘This House is the pillar of Islam, and the one who leaves his home for the House of Allah for the sake of performing Hajj or Umrah, and his soul is taken, it is upon the grace of Allah Almighty to grant him entry into Paradise; and if he returns (after performing Hajj), he will return with reward and prosperity.’ (Mu’jam Awsat, vol. 6, p. 352, Hadith 9033; Firdaus-ul-Akhbar lil Daylmi, vol. 2, p. 382, Hadith 7208)

Sayyiduna Anas رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ narrates that the Seal of Messengers, the Mercy to the universe صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, ‘Whosoever dies in one of the two Harams (i.e. Madinah Munawwarah and Makkah Mukarramah), he will be raised with the people of safety on the Day of Judgement, and whosoever visits me in Madinah with the intention of reward, he will be my neighbour on the Day of Judgement.’ (Shu’ab-ul-Iman, vol. 3, p. 490, Raqm 4158)

Sayyiduna Abdullah Bin Umar رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُما narrates that the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, ‘Whosoever has the ability to die in Madinah, he should do so, because I will intercede for the one who dies in Madinah.’ (Tirmizi, vol. 5, p. 483, Raqm 3943)

سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه! How fortunate are those who die in the Haramayn; Allah Almighty will enter them into Paradise, and alongside being granted the intercession of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم on the Day of Judgement, they will be in his company. Remember! Travelling in order to visit Makkah and Madinah is a matter of great honour, and the one
