Book Name:Sahabiyat Aur Deen Ki Khatir Qurbaniyan
Islam. To such an extent that not only did the Sahabiyyat رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْھُن remain prepared at all times for the sake of Islam, but they even sacrificed their wealth, children, brothers, fathers, husbands and even their own lives while treading upon the path of truth. Many Sahabiyyat were subjected to great tortures due to accepting Islam and their family members subjected them to all kinds of oppressions and torments also, but those righteous bondswomen of Allah Almighty bore every hardship wholeheartedly with patience and did not accept turning away from Islam.
The first female martyr of Islam
Sayyidatuna Sumayyah رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا, the mother of the famous companion of the Prophet, Sayyiduna ‘Ammar Bin Yaasir رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, is that courageous woman who has the honour of being the first female martyr of Islam. She رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا was the first (among women) to present her blood and strengthen the roots of Islam. One of the things that she was made to do was to wear an iron armour and stand in the scorching heat. (Usd-ul-Ghaabah, Raqm 7021, Sumayyah Umm-e-Ammar, vol. 7, p. 153, derived from) She رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا bore all of this but did not turn away from Islam.
Dear Islamic brothers! Ponder for a moment! When the armour of iron would begin to heat up due to the heat of the sun, then what would she go through in the scorching heat of the sun and in the burning iron armour. However, may we be sacrificed upon the greatness and steadfastness of that first female martyr, the one in whose heart the love for Allah Almighty and His
