nose, ears and other limbs.

When Sayyiduna Hamzah رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was martyred mercilessly in the battlefield of Uhud and his blessed body was dishonoured by his nose and ears, etc. being cut off, his sister Sayyidatuna Safiyyah رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا came with the shroud. The Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم prevented her from coming forward, lest she lets go of patience upon seeing the state of her brother. Therefore, her son, Sayyiduna Zubair رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ said, ‘My dear mother, the Beloved of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is asking you to return back.’ Upon this, she رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا said, ‘I have been informed regarding what was done to my brother, but I am content with this as it was done in the way of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ and I will be patient.’ So, she رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا was given the permission to go forward, (Al-Asabah, Raqm 11411, Safiyyah Bint-e-Abdul Muttalib, vol. 8, p. 236, summarised) and when Sayyiduna Hamzahرَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ  was being shrouded, she رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا showed such altruism that will be written in golden words till the last day! It was that she brought two pieces of cloths for her beloved brother’s shroud, but when he was shrouded, there was no cloth left for the shroud of the Sahabi (companion) who was being buried next to him. So, she رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا gave one piece of cloth for that Sahabi and shrouded her brother with one piece of cloth. What does Islam demand today?

Dear Islamic brothers, we should learn a lesson from the aforementioned sacrifices of the female companions رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْھُن. Today, Islam demands from us to:

    *Sacrifice time for its sake.

   *Tread the right path.

   *Make our families tread the right path.

   *Sacrifice useless worldly customs.

   *Break connections with sins.

   *Remove our arrogance and pride.
