Sadqay ka Inaam | The Reward of Giving Sadaqah
devastating evil and it is one of the demerits of hypocrites. Therefore, the remarkable virtue of Sadaqah and charity should be carried out solely for attaining the pleasure of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ rather than seeking the worldly fame and glory. Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ says in Glorious Quran:
کَالَّذِیۡ یُنۡفِقُ مَالَہٗ رِئَآءَ النَّاسِ وَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُ بِاللّٰہِ وَ الۡیَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِؕ فَمَثَلُہٗ کَمَثَلِ صَفۡوَانٍ عَلَیۡہِ تُرَابٌ فَاَصَابَہٗ وَ ابِلٌ فَتَرَکَہٗ صَلۡدً ا ؕ لَا یَقۡدِرُوۡنَ عَلٰی شَیۡ ءٍ مِّمَّا کَسَبُوۡ ا ؕ وَ اللّٰہُ لَا یَہۡدِی ا لۡقَوۡمَ الۡکٰفِرِ یۡنَ ﴿۲۶۴﴾
Like the one who spends his wealth to show to the people, and does not believe in Allah and the Last Day; his example is similar to that of a rock covered with dust, now hard rain fell on it, leaving it as a bare rock; they shall get no control over (or benefit from) anything they have earned; and Allah does not guide the disbelievers.
[Kanz-ul-Iman (Translation of Quran)] (Part 3, Al-Baqarah, verse 264)
Commenting on abovementioned blessed verse, Sayyiduna Imam Fakhruddin Razi عَـلَيْهِ رَحْـمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ الۡـقَـوِی (passed away in 606 Hijri) has stated: The example of a deed carried out by a hypocrite overwhelmed with showing-off is that as dust settling on the rock is removed by rain, leaving bare rock, same is the situation with the actions of a hypocrite, although to the
