Riya kari | Showing Off
must avoid the desire for people to offer transport arrangements for you and for you to be transported respectfully, rather you should make your own way there in order to preach the commandments of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ and the Sunnaĥs of His Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.
Jis kā ‘amal ĥay bay-gharz us kī jazā kucĥ aur ĥay
He who acts selflessly his reward is something special
When the saints were invited they turned up unhesitatingly
When our saints رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـهُ تَـعَالٰی were invited to speak to any gathering they would reach there without hesitating. Sayyidunā Sufyān Šaurī رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه; when he visited Ramallah (Palestine), Sayyidunā Ibrāĥīm Bin Adĥam عَـلَيْهِ رَحْـمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ الۡاَکْرَم sent him a message saying that he wanted Sayyidunā Sufyān Šaurī رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه to come and deliver a Ḥadīš lesson to the people. Someone said to Sayyidunā Ibrāĥīm Bin Adĥam عَـلَيْهِ رَحْـمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ الۡاَکْرَم, ‘You are requesting a great Ḥadīš expert, scholar and saint such as Sayyidunā Sufyān Šaurī رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه to come to you!’ He replied, ‘Yes, I want to show you his extreme humility.’ Then Sayyidunā Sufyān Šaurī رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه came and delivered a Ḥadīš lesson. (Tanbīĥ-ul-Mughtarrīn, chapter 4, pp. 228)
O our dear Allah عَـزَّوَجَــلَّ! Grant us sincerity in all our deeds and protect us from the despicable disease of showing off and grant us the ability to do every deed only for Your pleasure and make us amongst Your sincere bondmen.
اٰمِيۡن بِجَاهِ النَّبِيِّ الۡاَمِيۡن صَلَّى اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيۡهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم
Mayrā ĥer ‘amal bas Tayray wāsiṭay ĥo
Ker ikhlāṣ aysā ‘aṭā Yā Ilāĥī
May every deed of mine be only for You
Grant me such sincerity O my Lord
