اَللّٰہُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِیْہِ وَ زِدْنَا مِنْہ
(Translation: O Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, grant us blessings in it and grant us more)
because, there is nothing but milk which suffices for both water and food. (Shu’ab-ul-Iman, vol. 5, pp. 104, Hadees 5957)
This means, milk is the only blessing which removes both hunger and thirst; therefore, it is food and water as well.

Out of all drinkable items, the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم liked milk too much. (Akhlaq-un-Nabi, pp. 122, Hadees 614)
It is stated in the blessed Sahih Bukhari: Milk was sent to the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم as a gift which he صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم made Ashaab-e-Suffah رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُم drink and drank himself too. (Sahih Bukhari, vol. 4, pp. 234, Hadees 6452; summarized)

1. Human milk is free from germs and it is a great blessing for infants, it protects from many such diseases which are likely to infect children in their early childhood.
