wholeheartedly and attentively for his salvation. Similarly, a person witnessing the era of turmoils and evils should sincerely pray to gain salvation. Teaching his Ummah, the Prophet of mankind, the Peace of our heart and mind, the most Generous and Kind صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم not only sought refuge from turmoils himself but also advised his companions to do so. Listen to two Ahadees in this regard.
1. Sayyiduna Abu Nadarah رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُ has narrated that he heard Ibn Abbas رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُمَا say in Basra that the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would seek refuge from four things after offering Salah:
اَعُوۡذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنۡ عَذَابِ الۡقَبۡرِ وَ اَعُوۡذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنۡ عَذَابِ النَّارِ وَ اَعُوۡذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنَ الۡفِتَنِ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنۡهَا وَ مَا بَطَنَ وَاَعُوۡذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنۡ فِتۡنَةِ الۡاَعۡوَرِ الۡكَذَّابِ
i.e. I seek refuge of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ from the torment of the grave, from the torment of fire, from all apparent and inner turmoils and from the turmoil of the one-eyed liar (i.e. Dajjaal). (Musnad Imam Ahmad, vol. 1, pp. 627, Hadees 2667)
