Ijtima-e-Ghausia at Global Madani Markaz Faizan-e-Madina Karachi

The grandest annual Urs and Ijtima-e-Ghausia (gathering of Ghausia) of the Great Gyarvi Shareef will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 (corresponding to 11 Rabi-ul-Akhir), after Isha prayers at approximately 08:45 PM, at the Global Madani Markaz Faizan-e-Madina, Karachi.

Holding gatherings to discuss the virtues, sublime character, and biography of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani is a defining hallmark of the spiritual Qadri order. In every era, saints, scholars, and spiritual mystics have acknowledged Imam-ul-Mashaikh Ghaus-e-Azam Sheikh Jilani (may Allah have mercy on him) as their spiritual leader. Organizing gatherings on the passing anniversary of one's spiritual guide to celebrate their virtues, share their life and teachings, make arrangements for Eesal-e-Sawab (conveying rewards), and distribute blessed food (Langar)—this is the true essence and purpose of observing Gyarvi.

The Sufi teachings of Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani established the Shariah as the ultimate source and authority, bringing about a profound Prophetic revolution in his era in accordance with Islamic law. A study of the biography of Ghaus-e-Pak reveals that he revived the noble teachings and way of life of the Holy Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) in the outward and inward lives of people. He spearheaded the movement to revive the Sunnah, guided the rulers of his time toward righteousness, popularized noble character, showed the path of guidance to highway robbers, eradicated obsolete societal customs, and through comprehensive character building and individual transformation, firmly established the Islamic Shariah, earning him the illustrious title of Muhyi-ud-Din (Reviver of the Faith).

Inspired by the teachings of Sheikh Abdul Qadir, famously known as Ghaus-ul-Aghwath, thousands of spiritually lost individuals transformed into leading religious and social guides of their time. When his spiritual authority (Wilayat) became universally recognized, the spiritual poles (Qutbs) and deputies (Abdal) of the era not only accepted his spiritual rank but also pledged allegiance at his blessed hands. The far-reaching impacts of his religious and moral training left deep, everlasting impressions across Baghdad and the length and breadth of the Islamic world.

More than eight centuries have passed, yet mentions of Ghaus-e-Pak have not diminished by an iota. Rather, the successful and reformative impacts of his spiritual movement can be witnessed globally in general, and prominently within Dawat-e-Islami—a major global religious movement of the Islamic world. Dawat-e-Islami is a true reflection of Faizan-e-Ghausiyat, bringing about a religious revolution in society through the spiritual blessings of the Qadri order worldwide.

Dawat-e-Islami does not merely observe Gyarvi during Rabi-ul-Akhir; rather, it commemorates the life of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani throughout the entire year. Especially during the first decade of Rabi-ul-Akhir, it organizes educational sessions of Madani Muzakra to introduce people to the biography, spiritual manifestations, divine miracles, and relentless religious and reformative struggles of Qutb-ul-Aqtab Sheikh-ul-Jilani Abdul Qadir Jilani. Furthermore, on the 11th of Rabi-ul-Akhir, it officially marks the Urs of Ghaus-e-Azam under the banner of Ijtima-e-Ghausia.

As every year, this year too, on 11 Rabi-ul-Akhir 1448 AH corresponding to Wednesday, September 23, 2026, the Ijtima-e-Ghausia will commence at 08:45 PM after Isha prayers at the Global Madani Markaz Faizan-e-Madina, Karachi. At the appropriate time, the spiritual and scholarly luminary of the Islamic world, Ameer-e-Ahlesunnat Hazrat Allama Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadri, will speak on the life and teachings of his spiritual guide, Syed Abdul Qadir Ghaus-e-Jilani. Pearls of wisdom concerning the inner spiritual path (Tariqat) and Islamic jurisprudence (Shariah) will be imparted to the hearts through the Madani Muzakra, concluding with Fateha Khawani and the distribution of Langar-e-Ghausia.
