Surah An Noor Ayat 33 Translation Tafseer

Para 18 - قَدْ اَفْلَحَ

سورة النور

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

24.33

وَ لْیَسْتَعْفِفِ الَّذِیْنَ لَا یَجِدُوْنَ نِكَاحًا حَتّٰى یُغْنِیَهُمُ اللّٰهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهٖؕ-وَ الَّذِیْنَ یَبْتَغُوْنَ الْكِتٰبَ مِمَّا مَلَكَتْ اَیْمَانُكُمْ فَكَاتِبُوْهُمْ اِنْ عَلِمْتُمْ فِیْهِمْ خَیْرًا ﳓ وَّ اٰتُوْهُمْ مِّنْ مَّالِ اللّٰهِ الَّذِیْۤ اٰتٰىكُمْؕ-وَ لَا تُكْرِهُوْا فَتَیٰتِكُمْ عَلَى الْبِغَآءِ اِنْ اَرَدْنَ تَحَصُّنًا لِّتَبْتَغُوْا عَرَضَ الْحَیٰوةِ الدُّنْیَاؕ-وَ مَنْ یُّكْرِهْهُّنَّ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ اِكْرَاهِهِنَّ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِیْمٌ(33)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

And those who are unable to marry, let them remain chaste until Allah enriches them with His Grace. And those among whom you rightfully own who desire freedom on the condition of earning wealth, so write it for them if you know of good in them; and give to them from the wealth of Allah, which He has granted you. And do not compel your maidservants to fornicate,[1] especially if they themselves want to abstain, that you may seek the wealth of worldly life. And whosoever compels them, then indeed Allah, after their compulsion, is Most-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.[2]

Commentary

Since adultery is unlawful, coercing a woman into adultery is even worse by a fortiori. Threat of violence and death are enough to prove coercion. Those who force others to commit adultery are grave sinners and deserving of Divine punishment.

In protecting human dignity, Islam legislated injunctions to safeguard the chastity of women from all backgrounds and walks of life.
