The Blessed Childhood of the Beloved Prophet ﷺ
Dear Islamic brothers! Come, let us attain blessings and increase our love for the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم by listening to more beautiful accounts of his blessed childhood.
The first words spoken by the Noble Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم soon after he was born were: اللهُ أَكْبَر كَبِيرًا وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ كَثِيراً The angels used to rock the Prophet’s cradle.[1]
Sayyidunā ꜤAbbās رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ narrates:
I said, "O Messenger of Allah صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! The signs of your Prophethood led me to embrace Islam. I saw you speaking to the moon while you were in your cradle, and whichever direction you pointed your finger, the moon bowed in that direction." [2]
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Unlike other children, the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم never urinated or defecated in his clothes. Rather, he always relieved himself at a specific time. [3]
Dear Islamic brothers! From the moment the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم started speaking, he never reached for anything without reciting بِـسۡمِ الـلّٰـہِ and never took anything with his left hand. [4]
Sayyidah Ḥalīmah رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا narrates:
During the nursing period, caring for the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was a source of great ease and comfort for me. [5] Whenever I wanted to bathe the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, someone from the unseen would arrive before me.[6]
