of Sayyidunā ꜤUthmān رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ? Let us listen to a few of them.

Sayyidunā ꜤUthmān رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ was Firm in Faith

Sayyidunā Thābit b. ꜤAbdullāh رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه   narrates:

A person visited the fourth caliph of Islam, Sayyidunā ꜤAlī b. Abī Ṭālib رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ, and said, “O leader of the believers! I am returning to Madina. The people there are asking me about Sayyidunā ꜤUthmān رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ; what should I say to them?” He answered, “Tell them that this verse applies to Sayyidunā ꜤUthmān رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ perfectly.”

اٰمَنُوْا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ جُنَاحٌ فِیْمَا طَعِمُوْۤا اِذَا مَا اتَّقَوْا وَّ اٰمَنُوْا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ ثُمَّ اتَّقَوْا وَّ اٰمَنُوْا ثُمَّ اتَّقَوْا وَّ اَحْسَنُوْاؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ یُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِیْنَ۠(۹۳)

have faith, do righteous deeds, then fear Allah and have faith, then fear and do good deeds. And Allah loves the virtuous^[1]

Meaning: O questioner! When you reach Madina, tell the people that ꜤUthmān is that great personality who accepted faith, performed righteous deeds, remained steadfast upon faith his entire life, lived with piety his entire life, feared Allah, and is among the righteous whom Allah loves.

سُبْحٰنَ اللہ! We learn that Sayyidunā ꜤUthmān رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ remained firm upon faith and piety throughout his life.

I will never abandon Islam

It is written in books that when Sayyidunā ꜤUthmān رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ accepted faith, his uncle Ḥakam b. Abī ꜤĀṣ tied him with ropes and said, “I will never release you until you turn away from Islam.” اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللہَ! He subjected him to hardship for several days, but Sayyidunā ꜤUthmān رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ only said these words, “By Allah! I will never abandon this pure religion.” In the end, the truth prevailed and falsehood was defeated. When Ḥakam b. Abī ꜤĀṣ saw Sayyidunā ꜤUthmān’s
