Let us hear two ways in this regard:
The First Way: Remembering Death!
Dear Islamic brothers! To prepare for the Hereafter, it is very important to remember death. This is because death is the first step and the very first stage of the Hereafter. Remembering death abundantly means remembering all the stages of the Hereafter. When a person remembers death, he will move towards deeds that please his Lord. He will try to find out which actions please his Lord and which actions make Him displeased. Then, he will stay busy in worship according to the commands of his Lord. The people of Allah used to spend their whole lives worrying about the Hereafter because they remembered death often, and death was dearer to them than life.
Death is more beloved than Life
It is mentioned in the book of Maktabat-ul-Madinah, Iḥyā al-ꜤUlūm (Translated), Volume 5, Page 476, that when the time of death for Sayyidunā Ḥudhayfah رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ came near, he said: "O Allah! You know that I have loved poverty more than wealth. I have preferred illness over health, and I have loved death more than life, so make death easy for me in order that I may meet You."[1]
If we study the lives of the people of Allah, we will find that they never forgot that they had to leave this world. They always remembered that they were like travellers in this world. Hence, they were always worried about the Hereafter and did not focus on the world at all.
A Great Imam in Simple Clothes!

He was not interested in outward show or ostentation, which is why he was wearing very simple and ordinary clothes. Shaykh ꜤAbd al-Raḥmān Ṭūsī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه said to him: "Do you not have any other clothes? You
