Similarly, the company of Allah's pious people and knowing about their lives can also help us improve this journey. Today, we will hear more about this. اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه
The people of Allah always look towards the Hereafter instead of this world. Their way is to sacrifice worldly things to gain benefits in the Hereafter. Let us listen to a story about this:
It is narrated that the Companion of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, Sayyidunā Zubayr b. al-ꜤAwwām رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ, was a very successful businessman. Usually, businessmen think about making a profit and avoiding losses. Once, Sayyidunā Zubayr b. al-ꜤAwwāmرَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ sold one of his houses for 600,000 coins. Someone said to him, "O Abū ꜤAbdullāh! You have suffered a loss (because you sold it cheaply)."
Sayyidunā Zubayr b. al-ꜤAwwāmرَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ replied, "Not at all! By Allah! You will soon know that I have not suffered a loss, because I have given this wealth in the path of Allah." This means he gave it as charity. A fortunate Muslim who gives his wealth in the path of Allah Almighty never suffers a loss. Instead, he becomes deserving of a great reward and his wealth increases greatly through blessings.[1]
It is also narrated that Sayyidunā Zubayr b. al-ꜤAwwāmرَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ had one thousand slaves who would bring him income from produce and other sources. However, not a single coin from that money would enter his house; instead, he would give all that wealth away as charity.[2]
