The founder of Dawat-e-Islami, Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Aṭṭār Qādirī Razawī دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ says while explaining the importance of this book for correcting the inner self:

Imam Muhammad b. Muhammad b. Muhammad al-Ghazālī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه, who is the Proof of Islam, has done a great favour upon me. While reading his books like Minhāj al-ꜤĀbidīn and Iḥyā al-ꜤUlūm many times it feels as if he is holding me by my ears and telling me, “You walk around acting like a pious person, but look at yourself! You have this fault in you and that evil in you.” Whenever I read them, it feels like my soul is getting new nourishment. These books are not to be read just once or twice and then put away; they are worth reading until the last breath of life.

Remember that knowing the necessary information about deeds that lead to destruction and the ways to avoid them is obligatory. Similarly, having the necessary knowledge about deeds that lead to salvation and the ways to acquire them is also obligatory. Iḥyā al-ꜤUlūm is the best source to gain this knowledge.

For information on deeds that lead to salvation, the book of Maktabat-ul-Madinah titled Najat Dilanay Walay A’maal ki Maloomat ma’ 41 Hikayaat (Information on Deeds Leading to Salvation with 41 Stories) is also an excellent helper.

Encouragement for Pious Deed Number 71

Dear Islamic brothers! To prepare for the Hereafter and to save yourselves from deeds that lead to destruction, please join the religious environment of Dawat-e-Islami and take part in the 12 religious activities of the local area. To save yourself from destructive deeds, it is necessary to have knowledge about them. For this purpose, Ameer Ahl al-Sunnah دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ has given us one pious deed for study among the 72 pious deeds.

Pious deed number 71 states: "Have you studied the syllabus of life?" (This includes Minhāj al-ꜤĀbidīn, Jā-al-Ḥaqq, Bahar-e-Shariat part 9 regarding the ruling on apostasy, part 16 regarding buying and selling and the rights of parents.
