How to Prepare for the Hereafter?
Shaykh Abū Manṣūr SaꜤīd b. Muhammadرَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه narrates: "When Imam al-Ghazālīرَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه entered Baghdad for the first time with great scholarly glory, we calculated the value of his clothes and horse, and it was five hundred (500) dinars (meaning 500 gold coins). Later, when he chose the path of asceticism and left Baghdad, and after travelling to different places he returned to Baghdad, we again estimated the value of his clothes, and it was only fifteen (15) qīrāṭ (meaning a few ordinary coins)."[1]
Imam al-Ghazālīرَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه and Iḥyā al-ꜤUlūm
