When heصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  used to rest, sometimes he would behold Allah Almighty in the state of sleep, sometimes he would visit Paradise, and sometimes he would observe the secrets of the world.

In short, the beautiful sleep of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  itself is peerless and magnificent. Furthermore, when heصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  would wake up from sleep, observe how beautiful the states of his blessed heart were: (1) The state of gratitude; upon waking up, the Holy Prophetصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  would praise Allah Almighty: اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیْۤ اَحْیَانَا بَعْدَ مَآ اَمَاتَنَا. This was the state of gratitude. Then, (2) The state of concern for the Hereafter, as heصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  would say: وَاِلَیْہِ النُّشُوْرُ. This is the state of remembering the Hereafter.

What beautiful states these are! In summary, the states at the time of the morning are very important; these states clarify our personality. Therefore, we should reflect upon our morning states.

    Three Types of People

The noble scholars state: Regarding the morning, people are of three types: (1) One type consists of those who, upon waking up in the morning, become worried about earning wealth. (2) The second type consists of those whose hearts are inclined towards sins from the morning itself. (3) The third type consists of those who, when they wake up in the morning, have concern for the Hereafter and a desire to gain the proximity of Allah Almighty in their hearts. *  Thus, the servant who begins his morning in the worry of wealth, no matter how much he earns or how much effort he puts in, he will only consume what Allah Almighty has written in his destiny. * The servant who wakes with the inclination for sins in his heart faces disgrace. *  And that fortunate servant who wakes up in the morning with concern for the Hereafter in his heart and a quest for the proximity of Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty grants him sustenance and also blesses him with the guidance of His path.[1]
