The Beautiful Morning of Sayyiduna Mu’adh bin Jabal رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ

It is narrated by Sayyiduna Anas bin Malikرَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ  that once Sayyiduna Mu’adh bin Jabal رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ presented himself in the Prophetic court, and the Holy Prophetصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  asked: “O Mu’adh! In what state did you find yourself this morning?” He submitted: “I have found myself this morning while having faith in Allah Almighty.” The Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated: “Every claim has a proof; what is the proof for your claim?”

He submitted: “O Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! *  Whenever I have found myself in the morning, I presumed that I would not be able to see the evening. * And whenever I reached the evening, I thought that I would not be able to see the morning. *  Whatever step I took, I took it thinking that I would not be able to take the next step. *  And it is as if I am witnessing (this scene of the Day of Judgement) that every nation is fallen on its knees, being called towards its Book of Deeds, accompanied by the Prophet عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام who was sent to them, as well as the idols they used to worship instead of Allah Almighty. *  And it is as if I am witnessing the punishment of the people of Hell and the reward of the people of Paradise.” Upon this, the Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated: “You have gained true knowledge, so remain steadfast in these states.”^[1]

Dear Islamic brothers! Behold! What beautiful states these are...!! To wake up in such a state that there is concern for the Hereafter, death is visible before one's eyes, and the scene of the Day of Judgement revolves before the eyes. Alas! That time when all the former and the latter generations will be gathered, the earth will be extremely hot, the sun will be showering scorching heat, and one will face the Divine Wrath. Alas! The non-Muslims and the sinners will be driven towards Hell, while the fortunate ones will be led towards Paradise...!! This cautionary and terrifying scene and its states are prevailing over the heart and mind...!! If only we too could be blessed with such states.
