Translation: I have made the intention of Sunnah I’tikaf.

Dear Islamic brothers! Whenever you enter the Masjid, make the intention (Niyyah) for I’tikaf upon remembering; you will continue to receive the reward of I’tikaf for as long as you remain in the Masjid. Remember! Eating, drinking, sleeping, or having Sahari and Iftari—even drinking Zamzam or water to which Damm (دم) has been made is not permissible by Shari’ah in the Masjid. However, if the intention for I’tikaf is made, these acts become permissible. This intention should not be merely for eating, drinking, or sleeping, but rather to seek the pleasure of Allah Almighty. It is stated in Fatawa Shami: ‘If someone wishes to eat, drink, or sleep in the Masjid, he should make the intention for I’tikaf, do dhikr of Allah for a while, and then he may do as he wishes (i.e., eat, drink, or sleep).’

Excellence of reciting blessed Durood

The Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated:

مَنْ صَلّٰی عَلَیَّ یَوْمَ الْجُمُعَۃِ کَانَتْ شَفَاعَۃٌ لَّہٗ عِنْدِیْ یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَۃ
