Translation: I have made the intention of Sunnah iꜤtikāf.
Dear Islamic brothers, whenever you enter the masjid, please make the intention of iꜤtikāf upon remembering; as long as you remain in the masjid, you will continue to receive the reward of iꜤtikāf.
It is important to remember that according to sharia, eating, drinking, sleeping, or consuming the pre-dawn (suḥūr) and fast-breaking (ifṭār) meals—even drinking the Zamzam water or sanctified (blown-upon) water—is not permitted within the masjid. However, if the intention of iꜤtikāf is made, all these actions become permissible. However, the intention of iꜤtikāf should not be formed solely for the sake of eating, drinking, or sleeping; rather, its objective must be to seek the pleasure of Allah Almighty.
It is stated in Fatāwā Shāmī: “If someone wishes to eat, drink, or sleep in the masjid, they should make the intention of iꜤtikāf, engage in the dhikr of Allah for some time, and then they may proceed to what they desire (i.e., they may now eat, drink, or sleep).”
