So, let us listen to some faith-inspiring accounts and narrations of the reciters of this highly esteemed Book so that we also develop a passion and eagerness for reciting this sacred book of Allah Almighty too.
Angels used to come to listen to the recitation of the Holy Quran
Sayyidunā Abū SaꜤīd Khudrī رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ narrates:
One night, Sayyidunā Usayd b. Ḥuḍair رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ was reciting the Holy Quran near the place where he would tie up his horse. All of a sudden, his horse started to jump. He started the recitation of the Holy Quran again and the horse started jumping again. The same thing happened the third time. Sayyidunā Usayd b. Ḥuḍair رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہُ states: “I was afraid that the horse my trample (my son) Yaḥyā. Therefore, I went towards the horse and saw that a canopy containing shining lamps had cast a shadow over my head and. Then it became lost in the sky and disappeared from my sight.
In the morning, I went to the Noble Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! Last night, I was reciting the Holy Quran at the place where I tie up my horse, when my horse started to jump suddenly. When I came outside, I saw a canopy casting a shadow over my head having lit up lamps inside it. Then, it kept ascending in the sky to the extent that it disappeared from my sight. At that time, (my son) Yaḥyā was near the horse. I was scared that it would trample him.’
Hearing this, the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: ‘They were angels who came to listen to your recitation of the Quran. Had you continued reciting the Holy Quran, the people would have seen them
