Satan Mankind’s Enemy

bounty of Allah Almighty. Our task is to work hard, and success is from Allah Almighty.^{^[1]}

A man once saw Satan walking with his finger raised and asked why he was doing so. Satan replied, “I can do a lot with this finger, like bringing discord between people, causing them fight. They are at my fingertip.”

The man was surprised by this and asked how this was possible. Satan replied, “My finger will destroy this city in front of you very quickly, whilst people will fight among themselves.”

Satan entered the city with the man. they saw a confectioner making syrup by heating sugar in a large vessel. Satan placed his finger in the syrup, wiped some on the wall and said, “Now look at how this city is destroyed.”

A swarm of flies flew to the syrup on the wall, and upon seeing this, a lizard arrived to pounce on them. The confectioner’s cat saw the lizard and prepared to attack it. At the same time, two soldiers walked through the marketplace along with their dog. The dog saw the cat and attacked it, but as the cat ran away, it fell into the cooking vessel and died. The confectioner killed the dog in retaliation, which lead to the soldiers killing him in return. When the family of the confectioner learned about his death, they killed the soldiers. When the army were informed about the death of the two, they destroyed the entire city out of anger.^{^[2]}

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

O those who love Allah’s Messenger! This incident teaches us to refrain from fighting and prevent others from this Satanic act too. Sometimes,
