Sunnahs and manners of cutting nails

Let us now discuss the reported method of cutting nails.

    *     Begin with the first finger of the right hand, and continue cutting to the little finger. Now start with the little finger of the left hand and continue sequentially from left to right, including the left thumb. Finish by trimming the thumbnail of the right hand. [1]

    *     There is no reported method of trimming the toenails. It is better to start with the little toe of the right foot and continue sequentially to the left until every nail is trimmed.[2]
