O Lord of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! Grant us the blessings of بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْم, and grant us the ability to recite it before every permissible action!

اٰمِیْن بِجَاہِ خاتَمِ النَّبِیّیْن صلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہ ِوَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ 

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                                                صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

 

Sunnahs and etiquettes of cutting nails

Dear Islamic brothers! Let us listen to some pearls of wisdom relating to clipping nails, extracted from the Amir of Ahl al-Sunnah’s book 101 Madani Pearls.

*   It is recommended to clip nails on a Friday. However, one should not wait until Friday if the nails have grown long.[1]

Muftī Amjad ꜤAlī al-AꜤẓamī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه says:

It is narrated that whoever clips his nails on a Friday, Allah will protect him from calamities until the next Friday, as well as for three more days after that, i.e., for 10 days. In one narration, it is also stated that whoever clips his nails on Friday, mercy will arrive for him, and his sins will depart.[2]

*   The following is a summary of the narrated method of clipping one’s nails. Begin with the index finger of the right hand and clip
