the K’abah unless he did so first. The Quraysh offered me to perform tawaf, but I refused.[1]
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه! How auspicious a master, and how devoted a servant! This amazing narration also shows the incalculable love and unwavering respect Sayyidunā ‘Uthmān رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ had in his heart for the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم . The disbelievers offered him the chance to perform tawaf all by himself. Imagine if you had the chance to do tawaf and perform umrah all by yourself, with nobody else around! But his devotion and respect for the final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم resulted in him even turning this down, saying he cannot do so without the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم with him.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
During the peace treaty of Hudaybiyah, Sayyidunā ‘Urwah bin Mas’ūd (who was not yet Muslim at this time) was sent by the disbelievers of Makkah to speak with the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم in regard to the terms of this treaty. He saw the honourable Companions عَـلَيْهِمُ الرِّضْوَانْ respecting the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم in a manner unlike any he had seen before. Returning to Makkah, he explained this to the disbelievers by saying:
I take an oath by Allah! I have taken many delegations into the courts of numerous kings. I have been to Caesar (king of Rome), Kisrah (king of Iran) and Najjashi (king of the now defunct Aksum Kingdom).
