adopt the company of pious individuals with correct beliefs, in the exact same way, acquiring Islamic knowledge is a must, as without this, one may fall into grave errors.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers, part of respecting the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم means listening attentively with full manners and attention whenever he is mentioned. As written in volume 1 of Bahar-i-Shari’at, “Whenever the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is mentioned, one should listen with utmost humility, humbleness, decorum and manners.”[1]
We should always keep this in mind. Whenever you hear mention of the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم , recite salāt upon him with love and respect. This is a way of attaining unimaginable blessings, solving all problems and earning an abundance of reward.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers, when the sacred name of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is heard, kissing one’s thumbs is completely permissible and earns reward for the doer. So, whenever you read or hear the sacred name ‘Muhammad’, one should kiss the thumbs and place it on the eyes out of respect. Also, ensure to recite salāt every time.
Kissing one’s thumbs when hearing his name
As explained in Fatāwa Shāmi: When the muezzin says ‘اَشْھَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَّسُوْلُ اللّٰہِ’ the first time, the listeners should say: ‘صَلَّی اللّٰہُ عَلَیْک یَا رَسُولَ اللّٰہِ’. When the muezzin says these words again, the listeners should say:
