recites it and acts upon it.)[1] If he does, then he also loves Allah Almighty and His Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم .”[2]
Sayyiduna Sahl ibn ‘Abdullah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه states:
The sign of having love for Allah Almighty is having love for the noble Qur’an. The sign of having love for the noble Qur’an is having love for the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم . The sign of having love for the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is having love for the Sunnah (meaning, loving his Hadith, his practises, etc.) The sign of having love for the Sunnah is having love for the hereafter. The sign of having love for the hereafter is having hatred for this world. And the sign of having hatred for this world is taking from it according to one’s needs in an amount that takes one to the hereafter.[3]
Encouragement towards pious deed number 6
Dear Islamic brothers, you heard how important it is to have love for the noble Qur’an. Love for the noble Qur’an is declared as the sign of having love for Allah and His Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم . The sign of love for the Qur’an is to recite it and act according to it.
اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه In order to make the recitation of the Qur’an common amongst people and increase its love in people’s hearts, Amir Ahl al-Sunnah, Mawlana Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ has mentioned in pious deed 6 of the 72 Pious Deeds booklet, “Today, have you recited or listened to at least three verses of the holy Qur’an with translation from Kanz-ul-Iman and its commentary from Khaza`in-ul-‘Irfan or Nur-ul-‘Irfan; or have you read or listened to at least two pages of Sirat-ul-Jinan?”
