Imam Ahmad Raza Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه states, “Learning how to recite the Qur'an with correct pronunciation to the extent that one letter is clearly distinct from the other is obligatory on every person. Without it, prayer is absolutely invalid.”^[1]

He further states, “Undoubtedly, it is obligatory upon every individual to learn tajwid to the point that the reciter can pronounce letters correctly from their correct places of articulation according to the rules of pronunciation and refrain from reciting them incorrectly.”^[2]

Mufti Amjad ‘Ali A’zami رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه mentions, “It is wajib for the one who cannot pronounce letters correctly to make every effort day and night in pronouncing them correctly.”^[3]
