qualities and excellences of حَسَنَیْنِ کَرِیْمَیْن. Look at how a true scholar and devotee of the Messenger, Pir Mehr Ali Shah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه outlined the entire lives of رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا حَسَنَیْنِ کَرِیْمَیْن from just one verse of the Quran.

This is Pir Mehr Ali Shah’s own scholarly expertise and academic mastery. Besides this, حَسَنَیْنِ کَرِیْمَیْن are explicitly mentioned in several places of the Holy Quran, as found in its 22^nd part, Surah Ahzaab, verse number 33:

اِنَّمَا یُرِیۡدُ اللّٰہُ  لِیُذۡہِبَ عَنۡکُمُ الرِّجۡسَ اَہۡلَ الۡبَیۡتِ وَ یُطَہِّرَکُمۡ  تَطۡہِیۡرًا )۳۳(

“Allah wills only to remove every impurity from you, O People of the House of the Prophet, and make you absolutely pure by cleansing you.”^[1]

In a hadith found in Tabarani and Muslim, the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم took Sayyiduna Ali, Sayyidatuna Fatimah and حَسَنَیْنِ کَرِیْمَیْن رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُم under his sacred cloak. Having done this, he then recited this verse.^[2] According to another narration, he صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم made the following du’a, “O Allah! This is my Ahl al-Bayt; cleanse them thoroughly.”^[3]

Allah states in part 25 of the Quran, in verse 23 of Surah Shura:

قُلۡ  لَّاۤ اَسۡـَٔلُکُمۡ عَلَیۡہِ  اَجۡرًا  اِلَّا الۡمَوَدَّۃَ  فِی الۡقُرۡبٰی ؕ

“Say you (O Beloved), 'I do not ask any recompense from you for this (propagation of religion) except (your) love for (my near) relatives.'”^[4]
