He was immediately stopped by Pir Mehr Ali Shah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه. O listeners, observe the knowledge of a true scholar and devotee of the Messenger! Pir Mehr Ali Shah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه explained:

“According to the science of numerology, بِسْمِ اللہِ amounts to 786. Now write as I say:

The phrase ‘Imam Husayn’ numerically amounts to 210.

The year of Imam Husayn’s birth is 4 AH.

The year of his martyrdom is 61 AH.

The numerical figure of the phrase ‘karb o bala’ is 261.

The numerical figure of the phrase ‘Imam Hasan’ is 200.

Imam Hasan’s year of martyrdom is 50 AH.

What does 210 + 4 + 61 + 261 + 200 + 50 equal to? 786.”

He did not stop there, as Pir Mehr Ali Shah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه continued to say,

“O priest! You have read but one verse of the Quran. This not only mentioned Imam Husayn’s name, but his date of birth, the year he attained martyrdom and even the very place he was martyred. This verse also contains mention of his beloved brother—Imam Hasan—his name and respective year of martyrdom.

This verse also informs us of how these two illustrious personalities are indeed imams. Now bear in mind how this is what I have derived from only one verse of the Quran. If we continue, perhaps we will find many incidents from his blessed life also being mentioned.”^[1]
