Paradise Lies beneath the Feet of Mothers
Sayyiduna Jaahima رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ went to the court of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and said, “O Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! I wish to fight in the way of Allah, and I have come to you for advice.” The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم asked, “Is your mother alive?” He replied in the positive. So, the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: فَالْزَمْهَا فَاِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ تَحْتَ رِجْلَيْهَا, “Make it necessary upon yourself to serve her, for Paradise lies beneath her feet.”[1]
